Para demonstrans kenaikan harga BBM diatas, baik mahasiswa dan ibu-ibu rumah tangga, kelihatannya mulai menyadari kalau aksi mereka diliput luas oleh media asing. Makanya, poster-posternya mulai banyak yang memakai bahasa Inggris. Kasus demo menentang kenaikan harga minyak di Indonesia itu mendapat perhatian luas dari seluruh media utama di berbagai Negara, terutama negara-negara yang juga sedang menghadapi tekanan ekonomi yang sama seperti Indonesia akibat melambungnya harga minyak di pasar Global belakangan ini, gara-gara AS cs memboikot pembelian minyak ke IRAN. Kebanyakan negara di dunia punya maksud yang sama seperti Indonesia, yaitu akan menaikan harga BBM di negerinya atau mengurangi subsidi untul harga BBM di negerinya. Tapi mereka sepertinya berhitung sekali, kalau tak mau Pemerintahannya digoyang rakyat seperti kasus demo besar-besaran yang melanda Indonesia saat ini. Daripada negerinya dilanda demo besar-besaran seperti di negera kita saat itu, banyak Kepala Pemerintahan di berbagai negara sepertinya menunda dulu kenaikan harga BBM itu. bahkan, di Amerika Serikat sendiri, rencana Obama hendak mengurangi subsidi BBM, ditolak mentah-mentah oleh Senat (baca: Obama plan to end U.S. oil subsidies rejected
